Single-Stream Recycling

Lakeshore Recycling Systems is committed to waste diversion. We recycle everything we can with the intent of being as ecologically focused as possible. We send as little as possible to landfills to help make the world a greener and better place. We opened Chicago’s state-of-the-art single-stream recycling center in 2016, proving our dedication to preserving the earth. Our promise to never own or operate a landfill aids in the effort to make Highwood a cleaner and nicer place to live.

Our recycling center operates single-stream technology, sorting and separating recyclables quickly and efficiently. Our 40,000 square-foot facility handles more than 110,000 tons of residential and commercial recyclables at a time sorting over 20 tons of waste per hour.

Highwood and The Environment

Highwood is home to 5,405 people and 35 businesses, according to the Chamber of Commerce. As a sustainability partner, we assume all of these residents and businesses care as much as we do about the environment. There is no better waste management and recycling partner than Lakeshore Recycling Systems. We recycle over 75% of the materials brought into our facilities and are actively involved in LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) certification documentation for LEED recycling projects in our service area. Our resources and ability to recycle materials is above the rest. So, the next time you need a dumpster, on-site storage, portable restroom rental, mulch, recycling or any other waste management service, reach out to the local professionals. As always, feel free to visit our nearby facility in Northbrook.
