  • Service Information
    Residents will receive a 95-gallon cart. One additional bag of refuse can be placed curbside for pick-up. The additional bag will be considered your bulk item allowance for the week.

  • Service Schedule
    Refuse service is provided weekly.

  • Container Setout Instructions
    Place carts at the curb with wheels against the curb by 6 a.m. on collection days and remove the same day. Keep carts at least four feet from parked cars, mailboxes and other obstacles that may prevent LRS team members from picking it up.

  • Set Up New Residential Service
    If you are a new Coal City Resident and do not have established service, please contact the Coal City Village Hall.

  • Service Instructions & Limitations
    Don’t overfill your container – the lid must close tightly.

  • Acceptable and Unacceptable Materials
    Acceptable items include household refuse like organics, liner bags, plastic food containers, cutlery, lids, drink cups, straws, snack food bags, plastic or foil wrappers, aluminum foil, drink pouches, pet hair, broken mugs, dishes, etc.
    Unacceptable items include hot or warm bbq coals, flammable items, toxic items, corrosive items, reactive items, liquid paint, pesticides, poisons, cleaning solvents, batteries, used oil, automobile fluids, etc.

  • Request an Additional Container
    Additional carts are available for rent in 95-gallon sizes for $6.00 per month. To rent additional carts call us at (815) 725-4555.

  • Service Information
    Residents are allowed to place yard waste in biodegradable kraft type bags or use the provided 95-gallon yard waste cart.
  • Service Schedule
    Yard waste service is provided weekly between the
    week of April 1 through the first week of December. During the months in which yard waste pickup does not occur, residents may use the yard waste cart as an extra refuse cart at no additional charge.
  • Container Setout Instructions
    Place carts and/or bags at the curb with wheels against the curb by 6 a.m. on collection days and remove the same day. Keep carts at least four feet from parked cars, mailboxes and other obstacles that may prevent LRS team members from picking it up.
  • Service Instructions & Limitations
    Branches must be less than 2” in diameter. Bundles must be
    tied and less than 4’ in length and 3’ in diameter. Bundles and branches must be less
    than 50 lbs.
  • Acceptable and Unacceptable Materials
    Acceptable items include grass trimmings, leaves, live Christmas trees, twigs, branches, outdoor plants, flowers
    Unacceptable items include plastic bags, animal waste, cardboard, concrete, rock, fruits, vegetables, dirt, stone, indoor plants, trees, stumps larger than 3”

  • Service Guidelines
    LRS will pickup bulk items weekly. Bulk items must be less than 50 lbs. and reasonably maneuvered by one individual. Residents must schedule pickup for bulk items heavier than 50 lbs. and/or requires more than one person to move.

    For bulk items weighing more than 50 lbs. and/or that require more than one person to move, residents must schedule a pickup by contacting us at (815) 725-4555.

  • Acceptable and Unacceptable Bulk Item Materials
    Acceptable items include furniture, carpet (rolled, tied in 4ft. bundles), mattresses (wrap in plastic), paint (no lid/paint solidified), grills (no propane tank). Unacceptable items include construction, cleanout debris, hazardous waste, auto parts, stumps, riding mowers, tires and items over 50 lbs.

  • Dumpster Rental
    LRS residential dumpster rental allows you to quickly find the right size dumpster for your project, schedule delivery, and pay, all in just a few clicks.
  • White Goods
    LRS will pick up one appliance weekly. The white good should be placed at the curb by 6 a.m. on your regular service day. Call us at (815) 725-4555 to request pickup 24 hours in advance. Acceptable items include appliances.
  • Construction & Demolition Debris
    LRS will pick up a small amount of household construction debris weekly. The household construction debris should be placed at the curb by 6 a.m. on your regular service day. Household construction material cannot exceed the equivalent of five normal refuse containers. Acceptable items include household construction debris. Container not to exceed 32 gallons & 50 lbs. Bundles not to exceed 4′ in length, 2′ in diameter & 50 lbs. Unacceptable items include oil, propane tanks, antifreeze, concrete, rock, stumps, cement, bricks, roofing, wet paint, and similar material.
  • Electronic Waste Recycling
    E-waste pickups for the Village of Coal City are available quarterly. You must schedule your pickup at least 24 hours in advance of the pickup day. Additional fees will apply. Televisions and monitors are $35/item

    • Electronics can also be dropped off free of charge at the Naperville Environmental Collection Campus, 156 Fort Hill Drive Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. Acceptable items include computers/ equipment, TVs, microwaves, stereos, digital equipment, cell phones, video games, microwaves, phones, and small appliances. Unacceptable items include commercially sized electronics.
  • Holiday Tree Collection
    Christmas trees will be picked up on the regularly scheduled service day during the month of January. Trees must be clean of all decorations and lights and not in bags. Trees larger than 6 ft. must be cut in half. Acceptable items include fresh holiday trees. Unacceptable items include artificial holiday trees.
