COVID-19 Halloween Safety

This year, Halloween may look very different from previous years due to the COVID-19 pandemic. While there may not be trick or treating this year, if you and your family choose to participate, there are plenty of ways to celebrate! Remember to keep the safety of yourself, your loved ones and others at the forefront of all activities if you choose to recognize the holiday. Utilize the tips below to have a safe and fun Halloween this year.

Tips to Have a Safe Halloween During the COVID-19 Pandemic

KEEP IT SMALL

Whatever activity you choose to celebrate the holiday, be sure to keep it small to minimize any spread of the COVID-19 virus.

FIND ALTERNATIVES

Consider trick or treating at home and have different treats in every room or have an outdoor, social distanced Halloween parade in the neighborhood. Instead of trick or treating, you can also stay home and carve pumpkins, watch Halloween-themed movies or do Halloween crafts instead of going out.

WEAR A MASK

No matter how your family chooses to celebrate Halloween this year, if you decide to, be sure to always wear a face mask/covering when around others. Face masks/coverings help keep you, your loved ones and others around you safe during the COVID-19 pandemic.

KEEP HAND SANITIZER CLOSE

Be sure to keep hand sanitizer with you at all times and wash your hands for at least 20 seconds often to minimize the spread of germs.
