LRS RCI-Certified Recycling Capabilities

LRS is proud to be at the forefront of RCI certified recycling and waste diversion in the Midwest. The Recycling Certification Institute (RCI) is a national certification program that ensures the integrity, transparency and accuracy of reported recycling rates of C&D recycling facilities. Only 18 total companies in the nation, including LRS, have received this certification.

LRS is the only hauler in Illinois with two RCI certified facilities. With these facilities, we are able to dispose of the materials we collect, especially C&D commodities, as responsibly as possible and provide more customers with an easier way to build more sustainable buildings. Our RCI certified facilities are equipped with cutting edge technology geared for growth and development in the sustainable disposal of C&D materials.

The RCI certification works closely with the US Green Building Council’s Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) program to ensure that buildings are as sustainable as possible. LRS has helped with over 400 LEED projects.

The RCI certification expedites the process for current and future customers. LRS can help you establish a suitable LEED certification procedure for the materials and resources portion of the process. We will implement a specific program on your job site, track the results and take care of the sorting, recycling and paperwork.

All of these projects received the maximum of two points for recovery rates exceeding 75%, so customers can feel confident with our excellent service. LRS has the most RCI certified facilities in the Midwest, which can help achieve your LEED certification. If a holiday falls on a Saturday, that actual day is the observed holiday. If a holiday falls on a Sunday, then Monday would be the observed day off.

Skokie, Winnetka, St. Charles, Glencoe: if the holiday falls on a Monday or Tuesday, services will be behind one day (Glencoe, note: if the holiday falls on Thursday/ Friday, services for these two days only are behind one day)
