The City of Braidwood Refuse, Recycling and Yard Waste Reference Guide from LRS reflects an incorrect recycling schedule beginning the first week of October through December 2023 for homes serviced on what is referenced as ‘A’ and ‘B’ weeks. The recycle schedule reflected on the City of Braidwood webpage (Resident tab) is correct. Please scroll down to view the correct 2023 Braidwood Recycle Schedule.
Your refuse service day is assigned based on your service address. Use the interactive service day finder below to find your day, If you have any questions about your service, please call our office at (815) 725-4555.
The A & B represent your recycling pickup week. Recycling service is every other week. Refuse and yard waste service is every week. Use the interactive map along withe the recycling calendar to determine your pickup week.
Residents will receive a 95-gallon cart. One additional bag of refuse can be placed curbside for pick-up. The additional bag will be considered your bulk item allowance for the week.
Refuse service is provided weekly.
Container Setout Instructions
Place carts at the curb with wheels against the curb by 6 a.m. on collection days and remove the same day. Keep carts at least four feet from parked cars, mailboxes and other obstacles that may prevent LRS team members from picking it up.

Don’t overfill your container – the lid must close tightly.
Acceptable and Unacceptable Materials
Acceptable items include household refuse like organics, liner bags, plastic food containers, cutlery, lids, drink cups, straws, snack food bags, plastic or foil wrappers, aluminum foil, drink pouches, pet hair, broken mugs, dishes, etc.
Unacceptable items include hot or warm bbq coals, flammable items, toxic items, corrosive items, reactive items, liquid paint, pesticides, poisons, cleaning solvents, batteries, used oil, automobile fluids, etc.

Additional carts are available for rent in 95-gallon sizes for $6.00 per month. To rent additional carts call us at (815) 725-4555.
Schedule a Bulk Item Pickup
For bulk items weighing more than 50 lbs. and/or that require more than one person to move, residents must schedule a pickup by contacting us at (815) 725-4555.
Acceptable and Unacceptable Bulk Item Materials
Acceptable items include furniture, carpet (rolled, tied in 4ft. bundles), mattresses (wrap in plastic), paint (no lid/paint solidified), grills (no propane tank). Unacceptable items include construction, cleanout debris, hazardous waste, auto parts, stumps, riding mowers, tires and items over 50 lbs.
