Heartland Recycling Center

In spring 2016, LRS proudly opened this state-of-the-art single-stream recycling facility, located in Forest View, Illinois, just south of Chicago. The 40,000 square-foot facility, which is designed to handle more than 110,000 tons of high-grade residential and commercial single-stream recyclables, sorts, separates and allocates over 20 tons of waste per hour. Not only does this facility’s innovative technology positively impact the environment, but it benefits the community in creating more than 100 jobs in Cook County. With these new innovations, LRS controls and processes over 2.3 million tons of waste material annually, more than any other privately-held company in Illinois. LRS, with primary operations in Chicago and its suburbs, is a diversified waste services company providing commercial, residential, recycling and roll-off waste collection and diversion services to more than 24,000 commercial and residential customers.

If Driving South from Chicago on us 41 s / Lake Shore Drive or I-90 e / I-94 e:

• Merge onto Interstate 55 S headed towards St. Louis
• Take exit 283 for Illinois 43 / Harlem Ave
• At top of ramp, cross Harlem Ave as if merging back onto I-55, heading south
• Stay to right & merge onto frontage road
• At stop sign, take right onto Canal Bank Dr (I-55 will now be on your right-hand side)

If Driving North on Interstate 55:

• If driving on I-80 W or from I-57 N:Take exit 283 for Illinois 43 / Harlem Ave
• At top of ramp, take left onto Illinois 43 / Harlem Ave to head north
• Take immediate left onto ramp if merging back onto I-55, heading south
• Stay to right & merge onto frontage road
• At stop sign, take right onto Canal Bank Dr (I-55 will now be on your right-hand side)

• Follow signs and merge onto I-294 N
• Follow I-294 N to I-55 N

REGARDING CANAL BANK DR: Extremely rough & difficult to access from IL 50 / Cicero Ave. Recommend taking IL 43 / Harlem Ave when traveling.
