LRS SOLIDIFIES STANDING AS LEADING INDEPENDENT WASTE AND RECYCLING HAULER WITH ACQUISITION OF MAYWOOD-BASED INDUSTRY GIANT, ROY STROM

On Monday, January 4, 2021, LRS announced the acquisition of a leading independent hauler in Chicago suburb, Maywood: Roy Strom. This acquisition is LRS’ largest acquisition to date and further strengthens LRS’ foothold in Chicagoland and northern Illinois.

Roy Strom adds eight exclusive residential communities (River Forest, River Grove, North Riverside, Villa Park, Berkeley, Summit, Willow Springs and unincorporated DuPage county), over 100 employees, strategically located Construction & Demolition (C&D) recycling assets; a single stream recycling Material Recovery Facility (MRF) and a Municipal Solid Waste (MSW) transfer facility to LRS’ growing company and solidifies its standing as the independent leader in Illinois for waste and recycling for both residential and commercial services.

This acquisition adds a total of 50,000 new commercial customers to LRS’ growing customer base in Illinois. This acquisition not only expands our residential and commercial customer base but further sets in stone LRS’ leadership in Illinois and the Midwest. With this acquisition, LRS is further established as the waste and recycling industry leader in the Midwest, as well as the Chicago area.

As the seventh-largest privately-held waste and recycling company in North America, LRS specializes in providing comprehensive waste diversion and recycling services for thousands of residential and commercial customers in northern Illinois, southern Wisconsin and western Illinois. Diversified and growing exponentially, LRS also offers: affordable roll-off container services, C&D recycling, porta potty rentals, municipal and commercial street sweeping, mulch distribution, on-site storage and temporary fencing.

With the addition of Roy Strom, LRS owns and operates 18 facilities, safely deploys a fleet of fuel-efficient trucks, processes more than 3.2 million tons of waste each year and thrives on the passion of more than 1,200 full-time employees.

We welcome Roy Strom customers and employees to the LRS family and look forward to continuing to provide safe, innovative, sustainable services to all customers that we service throughout the Midwest.
