In June 2018, we made history by installing the first artificial intelligence-equipped Machinex Samurai sorting robot at our award-winning, LEED-certified Heartland Single Stream Recycling Center in Forest View, Illinois. And in 2021, LRS was named Chicago’s exclusive recycling partner, serving more than 620,000 households in four of the city’s Blue Cart Recycling Program zones.
Today, using the most sophisticated equipment available, LRS operates commercial and residential recycling facilities nationwide, diverting more than 40% of all the municipal solid waste that gets collected.
