City of Harrison Refuse, Recycling & Yard Waste

LRS provides the City of Harrison residents with services for refuse (garbage), recycling and yard waste. LRS is the exclusive hauler for residential, commercial, industrial, construction and demolition waste. LRS offers many other services for Harrison residents including bulk item drop-off, electronic waste drop-off, household hazardous waste drop-off, bi-annual clean-up  events  and large, open top construction style containers. Clarendon Hills Residential Waste & Recycling

Garbage is collected Monday – Friday in the City of Harrison; all items need to be placed out to the curb the night before your service day. Please contact LRS to confirm your service day if you are unsure or please reference the attached map. LRS offers wheeled carts for garbage with a flip-top lid and handlebar to throw your refuse in. Collection is limited, anything outside of the cart will be left behind. All residents should use the LRS issued cart for garbage materials. LRS offers additional waste carts for an additional rental fee.

Base Service

This service option is for all residents included within the city limits and is the default option to all new residents. One (1) 65-gallon waste cart will be provided for weekly collection services. Collection is limited to the LRS bin, anything outside the container will be left.

High Volume Service

This service option is for all residents included within the city limits who generate more trash and requested to be on this program. One (1) 95-gallon waste cart will be provided for weekly collection services. This program option has limited collection, anything outside the container will be left.

Low Volume Service

This option can be utilized by residents who generate a low volume of residential waste. One (1) 35-gallon waste cart will be provided for weekly collection services. Collection is limited, anything outside the container will be left behind.  Residents who wish to participate in this low volume waste program must enroll by contacting the City of Harrison Water Department directly.  

Any changes in services need to be communicated to the City of Harrison Water department.

LRS provides one cart for recycling at no charge for each household. Carts are available in 65 and 95-gallon sizes. Recycling is an optional service. Residents can enroll in recycling program by contacting the City of Harrison Water department. Additional carts are available upon request.

For any recycling bins that are placed out and do not meet guidelines, (i.e., non-accepted materials placed inside the recycling bin) will be left behind and receive a city violation. Residents have up to 3 city violations before they are unable to participate in the optional service and recycling bin will be removed.

Yard waste is collected year-round on the same day as refuse and recyclables.

What is considered yard waste?

Yard waste, also known as landscape waste, consists of organic waste materials accumulated as the result of cultivation and maintenance of gardens, lawns, shrubbery, trees and vines.

Yard waste is garden trimmings, branches and brush under two inches (2”) in diameter, leaves, flowers, tree droppings (crabapples and pinecones), garden plants, vines, weeds and grass clippings and yard trimmings.

Residents may place out Kraft bags or personal containers not exceeding 30g or 40lbs when full. Please attach one sticker per bag, bundle or container, purchased at the LRS office.

LRS customers and Boone County residents have the option to utilize the recycling center for the materials below.

Proof of residency will be required upon arrival at the site.

The facility is located at 805 Cottonwood, Harrison, AR.  Hours of operation are Monday – Friday 7:30AM – 5PM. Holidays may affect these hours.

“Bulk Items” are items that are too large to fit into a cart or can. LRS will collect one bulk item per week at no charge. If a bulk item is deemed hazardous or unacceptable for landfills, that item will not be taken. Bulk items must be prescheduled and prepaid to be collected from the curb. Alternative options include the recycling drop-off facility or the bi-annual clean-up events.  

Examples of a bulk or large item exceeding the capacity of the LRS refuse (garbage) cart, includes the following: bed frame, box spring (bed), bicycle, chair, love seat/sofa, one part of a sectional couch, mattress, frame, or wall picture. These are only some examples as there are many items that may be considered bulk items.

For health and safety reasons, mattresses must be wrapped in plastic to be collected. Plastic mattress wrap can be found online or at local grocery stores, hardware stores, storage and moving outlets. If using loose plastic, it must be completely taped and secured on all corners with no exposure to the mattress.

Bulk items requiring special equipment and additional labor, such as a piano, sleeper sofa (couch with pull out bed) and large entertainment center are considered a Special Refuse Collection.

LRS and the City of Harrison will provide bi-annual clean-up events for residents included in city limits. Please contact LRS to see when the next clean-up date is. Please refer to the guidelines below for cleanup requirements:

  • All items must be placed curbside the night before scheduled pickup day
  • Trucks make only one pass through each street
  • Acceptable items include: Clothes, carpet, fencing, furniture, mattresses & box springs, non-freon containing appliances, toys, tools, bicycles (without tires), push & self-propelled lawn mowers, metal (short lengths), and lumber (4 feet in length)
  • Unacceptable items include: Tires, batteries, paint, liquid waste, construction material, automobiles, automobile parts, freon-containing appliances, dehumidifiers, guns, ammunition, concrete, dirt, bricks, blocks, electronics, glass, yard waste, leaves, and grass clippings
    • Any of these items placed out on the pickup day will be left behind

How do I clean my cart?

Fill the cart with hot water and a capful of vinegar or grease-cutting dish soap. Let it sit for about 10 minutes and rinse. Once the cart has been thoroughly rinsed, set the cart out with the lid open in the sun to dry.

 

What if I need my cart replaced?

Carts that are broken due to damage incurred during the collection are reported by the driver for replacement at no charge. Residents are encouraged to contact LRS if they notice damage to the cart during the collection process to request a replacement cart.

If damage occurs to the cart due to other reasons, please contact LRS to request a replacement cart. An exchange fee will be applied and billed to the resident if requesting a new cart due to damage not incurred during the collection process or odors.

 

Is this considered garbage?

Latex paint

Latex paint is considered regular garbage, but it must be completely dried, with the lid off so the driver is able to see inside the can. Dry latex paint by leaving lid off or open and/or mix kitty litter until the paint is completely absorbed. Do not place out for collection until the paint is completely dry.

Alkaline batteries

Alkaline batteries are considered regular garbage and should be thrown into the garbage. It is always recommended that tape be used on each end of the battery and placed into a plastic sandwich bag when disposing of them.

 

How do I report a missed pickup?

If your waste, recycling, or yard waste services are not collected on the service day by 6 pm, please contact LRS by calling 479-264-2772.

The holidays below will impact service only if it falls before or on your day of service, Sunday – Friday. Holidays falling on a Saturday will not impact your collection day. LRS observes and will be closed for the holidays below:

La Salle

City of La Salle Refuse, Recycling & Yard Waste Collection Program

Effective January 30th, 2023, garbage and recycling will be collected Monday-Thursday in La Salle. Please reference the map below to confirm your collection day. Garbage will be collected weekly and recycling bi-weekly. NOTE: Your service day may have changed from the previous hauler.  Service times may vary. Please have all materials placed curbside by 6AM to ensure collection.


LRS is an Illinois based company with a local operation established nearby in Atkinson, and a call center located in Monmouth! Under the City’s new contract with LRS, residents will see new service enhancements. Please click on the tabs below for more service information.

 

Important Service Transition Information

The new service with LRS will start on Jan 30th, 2023. However, LRS will start delivering waste carts on January 23rd, 2023.  These carts will be placed curbside close to where your address will receive future services from LRS. You may place the LRS carts out for collection on your first service day. Please see the map for your service day. Some residents may see a change in collection day.


LRS has partnered with the City to enhance the current collection and provide a cart for every resident. LRS will only provide collection for the LRS branded carts that are provided under this new program. If you would like to throw away your personal container. Please place a note on it that states, “PLEASE THROW AWAY THIS CONTAINER.” A note must be left on the container for the driver to throw away your personal property.


The current hauler will continue to provide collection through January 27th.  After they collect your trash, a separate truck will pick up any existing carts on the same day, so please leave those carts at the curb until they are collected.

Clarendon Hills Residential Waste & Recycling

Please confirm with the map above for your designated service day. All garbage will be collected starting at 6AM on the service day, garbage is collected weekly. Service times are subject to change. LRS provides wheeled carts with a flip-top lid and handlebar to throw your garbage in. All garbage carts are 95-gallon in size. Residents may request an additional garbage cart by contacting the City of La Salle.

Garbage collection is limited. Residents are to use the LRS cart first for any garbage. Any garbage outside of the cart requires one waste sticker per bag or container. Please see below for more information on stickers.

For trash that does not fit in the cart, please bag it and affix a single refuse sticker to the front of the bag or container so that it is visible to the driver. Bags of waste outside of the cart must have a sticker affixed to the bag to receive collection. Refuse stickers are $2.75 each, and may be purchased at City Hall, Illinois Valley Foods, or any other future participating local businesses.

Residents may use a non-LRS cart or container for waste materials that do not fit into the LRS issued cart, so long as it does not exceed 32 gallons, 50 lbs., and has two handles and a lid. One sticker must also be attached.

LRS provides one cart for recycling at no charge for each household. Carts are available in the 95-gallon size. Recycling is serviced every other week.  Additional carts are available upon request to the City. Contact LRS Customer Service for more information or with questions on recycling.

  • Recyclables are collected every other week on the same day of the week as the garbage
  • Each home will automatically receive a 95-gallon cart for recyclables
  • You are to use the LRS issued cart for recycled materials
  • Plastic bags with recycling material will not be accepted
  • Rental recycling bins are available upon request to City Hall in the larger size (95-gallon)

All materials must be placed inside of the provided cart. No exceptions.  Placing additional materials outside of the cart will violate city ordinance and risk littering the community. Please break down boxes and place them inside the cart.

  • All glass colors are accepted

Plastic Containers

  • Leave plastic screw top caps on empty bottles and jars
  • Empty and rinse; labels may be left on
  • Bottles include: Water, soda, juice, laundry detergent, soap/shampoo, health and beauty products and cleaners
  • Tubs include: coffee, tofu, cottage cheese, yogurt, margarine tubs, fruit or lettuce
  • Jugs include: milk and juice
  • Jars include: mayo, peanut butter

The current Monday curbside yard waste collection program will no longer be available. The program has been replaced with a yard waste & organics drop-off program. Please read below to learn more about the drop-off site near you.

Bread, cereal, coffee grounds, dairy, eggshells, eggs, fruits, grain, pasta, shells & vegetables.

Guidelines

All locations will accept securely tied bundles of brush or branches using biodegradable cord, string, rope or twine that does not exceed fifty (50) pounds in weight, two (2) feet in diameter, and four (4) feet in length, with individual branches no larger than three (3) inches in diameter.

Yard Waste and Organics Drop-Off Sites

SITE 1: City of La Salle Yard Waste Drop-Off Site- Residents traveling east on U.S. 6 can take a left onto Troy Grove Blacktop then take the first left

SITE 2: City of La Salle Public Works Building (LRS BINS)-146 Industrial Drive Open from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. on weekdays

Branch Pick-Up

Contact the City directly to schedule branch pickup. There is a $10.00 charge for the first 15 minutes of branch service plus $0.75 per minute for each minute beyond the initial 15. Please reach out to 815.223.3755 to schedule.

Branches must be no longer than 6’ in length and 3” in diameter. Branches should be neatly stacked curbside. No branch pickup can be made in alleys. The City cannot remove tree trunks or stumps or branches larger than described above.

City Leaf Pick-Up

Burning of yard waste in residential zoned areas is prohibited. City leaf pick-up begins in October and ends in late November. Exact start and end dates vary from year to year based on weather.

The schedule for the city leaf vacuum is as follows:

  • Monday – Households located north of 11th St and East of St Vincents Ave
  • Tuesday & Wednesday – Households located north of 11th St and West of St Vincents Ave
  • Thursday– Households located south of 11th St and West of St Vincents Ave
  • Friday – Households located south of 11th St and east of St Vincents Ave & all households east of the Little Vermillion River

Christmas Trees

For the whole month of January, LRS will collect your non-artificial Christmas trees as organic material – free of any tinsel, ornaments or lights. Trees should be left loose (never in bags) in the area where you have regular service for trash and recycling.  Due to snow and ice, trees may not always be picked up on your service day as our drivers and trucks will be in the city all month for pickups.

If a single household item is too large to fit in a cart, then it is considered a bulk item. LRS will accept one bulk item each week! Please place the bulk item next to your trash cart on your regularly scheduled collection day.

If the item is heavier than 50 lbs., please contact LRS to schedule the collection with our customer experience team so they can provide adequate equipment to handle the item safely. Additional bulk items placed out on the same day will require 10 refuse stickers to be affixed to each single item to avoid a city ordinance violation.

According to the EPA, Household Hazardous Waste (HHW) are products that can catch fire, react, or explode under certain circumstances. All HHW items are banned from the landfill and will not be collected with curbside collection. DIY Construction

Home remodeling waste includes, but is not limited to drywall, plywood, paneling, lumber, doors, windows, cabinets, porcelain fixtures, sod, fencing, concrete, or rocks will require special pickups. Residents will need to schedule service for these items and call to receive instructions on how to best prepare them for collection. Estimates will be provided, and items will be charged by the yard.

Dumpster Services

LRS has expanded our temporary services division to create an easier customer experience. These temporary services include portable restroom rental and dumpster roll-offs of all sizes to contain your construction debris.

Holiday service will be provided one day later than regular collection if the holiday falls Sunday through Friday. If the holiday falls on a Saturday, service will not be affected.

North Chicago

NORTH CHICAGO SERVICE

City of North Chicago Refuse, Recycling & Landscape Waste Collection Program

Effective November 1st 2022, garbage, recycling and landscape waste will be collected Monday-Friday, every week, in North Chicago, please reference the map below to confirm your collection day. NOTE: Your service day may have changed from the previous hauler. Service times may vary. Please have all materials placed curbside by 6AM to ensure collection.

Collection Guidelines

Please confirm with the map above for your designated service day. A Brochure confirming your service day was mailed to all homes at the start of the program. A copy of the brochure (not including service day) can also be found above.

All garbage, recycling and landscape waste will be collected starting at 6AM on the service day. Service times are subject to change. LRS provides wheeled carts with a flip-top lid and handlebar to throw your garbage in. All garbage carts are 95-gallon in size. Upon delivery of new LRS carts during implementation, a cart hanger will be attached to the cart that also confirms service day for your specific address. Residents may request an additional garbage cart by contacting the City of North Chicago.

There is no limit to the amount of garbage LRS will collect (so long as it is properly contained). Residents may use a non-LRS cart or container for waste or recycling materials if it does not exceed 32 gallons, 50 lbs. and has two handles.

Landscape waste is collected seasonally beginning on April 1st through December 15th on the same service day as your garbage and recycling.

What is considered landscape waste?

Landscape waste, also known as yard waste, consists of organic waste materials accumulated as the result of cultivation and maintenance of gardens, lawns, shrubbery, trees, and vines. All residential customers will be permitted to place up to six (6) bags, bundles, or containers per collection.

Christmas Tree Collection

LRS will provide a special collection of Christmas trees from January 2nd – January 31st on the service day.

     ®     The tree must be real, not artificial, not in any plastic bags and free of tinsel, lights, ornaments and not frozen to the ground.

     ®     Flocked trees, trees with shiners, tinsel, light bulbs, glitter, wire, or plastic or in plastic bags will not be included in this special collection

“Bulk Items” are items that are too large to fit into a cart or can. LRS will collect one bulk item per week at no charge. If a bulk item is deemed hazardous or unacceptable for landfills, that item will not be taken. Please preschedule a pickup with LRS for these types of items.

Examples of a bulk or large item exceeding the capacity of the LRS refuse (garbage) cart, includes the following: bed frame, box spring (bed), bicycle, chair, love seat/sofa, one part of sectional couch, mattress, frame, or wall picture. These are only some examples as there are many items that may be considered bulk items.

For health and safety reasons, mattresses must be wrapped in plastic to be collected. Plastic mattress wrap can be found online or at local grocery stores, hardware stores, storage and moving outlets. If using loose plastic, it must be completely taped and secured on all corners with no exposure to the mattress.

Bulk items requiring special equipment and additional labor, such as a piano, sleeper sofa (couch with pull out bed) and large entertainment center are considered a Special Refuse Collection.

Electronic waste (E-Waste) are items that are banned from the landfill (cannot go in your normal trash). DIY Construction

Home remodeling waste includes, but is not limited to drywall, plywood, paneling, lumber, doors, windows, cabinets, porcelain fixtures, sod, fencing, concrete, or rocks will require special pickups. Residents will need to schedule service for these items and call to receive instructions on how to best prepare them for collection. Estimates will be provided, and items will be charged by the yard.

How do I clean my cart?

Fill the cart with hot water and a capful of vinegar or grease-cutting dish soap. Let it sit for about 10 minutes and rinse. Once the cart has been thoroughly rinsed, set the cart out with the lid open in the sun to dry.

What if I need my cart replaced?

Carts that are broken due to damage incurred during the collection are reported by the driver for replacement at no charge. Residents are encouraged to contact LRS if they notice damage to the cart during the collection process to request a replacement cart.

If damage occurs to the cart due to other reasons, please contact LRS to request a replacement cart.

Is this considered garbage?

Latex paint

Latex paint is considered regular garbage, but it must be completely dried, with the lid off so the driver is able to see inside the can. Dry latex paint by leaving lid off or open and/or mix kitty litter until the paint is completely absorbed. Do not place out for collection until the paint is completely dry.

Alkaline batteries

Alkaline batteries are considered regular garbage and should be thrown into the garbage. It is always recommended that tape be used on each end of the battery and placed into a plastic sandwich bag when disposing of them.

LRS provides Unincorporated Blackberry Township residents with services for refuse (garbage), recycling and yard waste. LRS offers many other services for Unincorporated Blackberry Township residents including bi-annual electronic waste recycling and disposal, organic food scrap compost service, leaf collection program, portable restrooms, and large, open top construction style containers. Collection day for Unincorporated Blackberry Township residents will fall on Monday through Friday. LRS has teams on the roads starting at 6am till 7pm on the designated service day. Please have all items to the curb by 6am to ensure service. All garbage, recycling and yard waste will be collected on your scheduled service day. Service times are subject to change and are not guaranteed.

Unincorporated Blackberry Township residents may select between three program options for garbage collection. Program options include a three-cart program, two cart program and a one cart program. For more information on the program(s) offered, please read below.

 

PICK UP DAY MAP  

 

Three Cart Program

Unincorporated Blackberry Township residents would get the opportunity to choose to have either a 65-gallon trash container or a 95-gallon trash container. This would also include a recycling container and a yard waste container that we offer 65-gallon in or 95-gallon containers.

 

Two Cart Program

Unincorporated Blackberry Township residents can choose from having a trash container and a recycling container delivered to their residency to be serviced one time a week. Residents can choose from having a 65-gallon container or 95-gallon containers for trash and recycling services.

 

One Cart Program

Unincorporated Blackberry Township residents may also choose to have a sticker-based service. This would require a personal non-LRS owned container to be used for trash services. The personal container would need to be 35-gallon or less with two handles and cannot weigh more than 50lbs when full. The personal container would need to have a waste sticker attached to it for the team to service. Recycling containers will be provided and may be chosen from a 65-gallon or a 95-gallon container.

 

Cart Program

 

 

Monthly Program Rates

The three cart and two cart programs require a Mill Creek/Unincorporated Blackberry Township Waste Sticker for garbage and yard waste placed outside of the LRS containers.

  • 3 CARTS – Cart for recyclables, garbage & yard waste = $21.03/MO
  • 2 CARTS – Cart for recyclables & garbage, stickers required for yard waste = $18.04/MO
  • 1 CART – Cart for recyclables only – Must pay for each bag and container of garbage/yard waste

LRS provides one cart for recycling at no charge for each household. Each household can choose from either a 65 gallon or a 95 gallon recycling container. Recycling is serviced on the same day as trash and on a one truck pass. The same truck that services your trash, has a split body to collect recyclables as well. Additional recycling carts are available upon request to customer service. Contact LRS customer service for more information or with questions regarding recycling.

 

  • Recyclables are collected on the same day of the week as the garbage and yard waste
  • You are to use the LRS issued cart first for recycled materials
  • There is no limit to the amount of acceptable recyclable items that can be placed out for collection, provided they are properly prepared and contained
  • LRS suggests using a cardboard box as a makeshift bin and placing all broken down materials in the ‘bin’ if needed
  • Please MARK the additional box or container used as RECYCLE so the driver can clearly see it
  • Plastic bags with recycling material will not be accepted
  • Shredded paper is not considered recyclable material, please contact the customer service department for further disposal options
  • Rental recycling bins are available upon request to customer service

 

 

Yard waste is collected seasonally beginning on April 1st through December 16th on the same day as garbage and recyclables. LRS also allows organic food scraps to be mixed into yard waste during the season.

 

Unincorporated Blackberry Township residents can have their yard waste removed with one sticker attached to each loose Kraft bag or personal container. The personal container would need to have 2 handles and be 35 gallon in capacity of less and labeled as Yard Waste. Each bag and personal container would need to be under 50lbs in weight to be serviced by the driver.

 

What is Considered Yard Waste?

 

Yard waste is garden trimmings, branches and brush under two inches (2”) in diameter not exceeding 4’ in length, leaves, flowers, tree droppings (crabapples and pinecones), garden plants, vines, weeds, grass clippings and yard trimmings.

 

What are considered acceptable food scraps?

 

Bread, cereal, coffee grounds, dairy, eggshells, eggs, fruits, grain, pasta, shells, vegetables

 

Approved yard waste containers and bags

 

  • 2-ply, biodegradable yard waste bags or personal containers placed out for collection on the service day.
  • Non-LRS containers must have two handles or a grip
  • Garbage must be contained and fit inside the container when full
  • Non-LRS containers may not exceed 35-gallons
  • Personal cans/containers labeled YARD WASTE and weighing less than 50lbs when full.
  • Brush and branches must be bundled and tied with biodegradable twine or string (no metal). Each bundle must be no longer than 4’ in length, 2’ in diameter, weighing no more than 50lbs.
  • Individual branches must be no larger than 2” in diameter, weighing no more than 50lbs.
  • Stumps or root balls should be bagged and thrown into regular garbage. For extra-large stumps or root balls, contact LRS for a special collection, or a local landscape company

LRS will be picking up live Christmas trees for the first two weeks of January.  Residents must set trees out curbside with their trash and recycling on their regular day of service. Any Christmas trees that needed to be removed after two weeks would need to have on sticker attached to have it serviced.

 

  • Live Christmas trees will be collected on residents’ garbage collection day.
  • No refuse sticker is needed through the first two weeks of January.
  • After the first two weeks in January, each tree would need one sticker attached.
  • Please remove all hard materials from the tree prior to disposal, including ornaments, nails, stands, etc.
  • All wreaths and roping must be included with normal trash on residents’ normal collection day

 

Residents must place the trees outside with their trash no later than 6 a.m. on their scheduled refuse pickup day. To ensure the timeliness and integrity of the schedule, LRS crews will not return for special pickups. Once a street has been completed, trees will not be collected until the following week.

Bulk items (that do not fit into your garbage cart) are collected loose, on your regular day of service. Residents can have one free bulk item removed each service day. Anything additional would need to be prescheduled and prepaid to have it removed. If an item exceeds 50lbs, or does not fit in the trash cart, residents need to call LRS to schedule a special pickup. If a bulk item is considered hazardous, unacceptable for landfills or deemed unacceptable to take as garbage, the item(s) will not be taken.

 

Mattresses and box/bed springs must be enclosed in a plastic mattress cover and taped securely shut. Plastic mattress covers may be purchased at retail outlets such as Walmart, Lowes, Menards, Home Depot and storage unit facilities. Packaging wrap or trash bags cut up and taped around to cover a mattress or box spring are also acceptable options.

 

Each bulk item is required to be prescheduled and prepaid to LRS.

Electronic Waste (E-Waste) are items that are banned from the landfill (cannot go into the regular garbage).

LRS provides home collection of E-Waste for Unincorporated Blackberry Township residents that have LRS waste and recycling collection. This service provides a more convenient and simple way to responsibly manage electronics that are banned from the landfill. Scheduling items to be removed will take place bi-annually with no charge.

Residents will be requiring submitting a request online (on this webpage) to receive an E-Waste collection. Requests will be accepted beginning one month before each event and must be submitted the Thursday by 5pm prior to collection week.

  • Seven (7) item limit including only one (1) TV and/or (1) Monitor
  • TV’s may not exceed 60” (inches) or 100 pounds

For curbside service though Kane County, enrollment entitles residents to one free home pick up of HHW per household per year. Service must be booked directly with Kane County’s HHW service provider. Once you receive your first LRS invoice, you may create an online account through the LRS online payment portal. Through this portal, you can submit payments, register for auto-pay, and view account detail and payment history.

West Fork

City of West Fork Refuse, Recycling & Yard Waste

LRS is the exclusive provider for refuse (garbage), recycling and yard waste. LRS offers many other services for West Fork residents including bulk item service, Annual Clean-up events, and large, open top construction style containers as well. We are proud to be a partner in your community!

Clarendon Hills Residential Waste & Recycling

Garbage is collected on Monday in the City of West Fork; all items need to be placed out to the curb the night before the service day. LRS offers wheeled carts for garbage with a flip-top lid and handlebar to throw your refuse in. Carts are offered in 96-gallon size. Anything outside of the cart will be left behind. All residents should use the provided cart for garbage materials. LRS offers additional waste carts for an additional rental fee, please contact LRS if you wish to rent an additional cart.

LRS provides one cart for recycling at no charge for each household. Carts are available in 64-gallon size. Additional carts are available upon request. Contact LRS Customer Service for more information or with questions on recycling.

  • Materials for recycling collection must be placed at the curb the night before service day
  • Cart must be less than three feet from the street curb/road
  • Your cart must be at least 3 feet from your trash bin
  • Your cart must be at least 6 feet from a mailbox
  • Your cart must be at least 10 feet from a fire hydrant
  • Your cart lid must be facing the road (wheels towards the house)

Yard waste is collected seasonally beginning on April 1st through the last full week of November on the same day as refuse and recycling.

 

What is Considered Yard Waste?

  • Brush, limbs, or tree trunks (root balls and tree stumps are not accepted)
  • Mixed yard waste (mixture of brush, leaves and/or grass clippings)
  • Leaves (separated from other materials)
  • Grass (separated from other materials)

 

Approved Yard Waste Containers or Bags

To use this program, residents must purchase yellow yard waste bags. Bags are available for purchase from City Hall.

LRS will collect one (1) bulk item per week, along with your regular garbage. Bulk items are small furniture items or toys that do not fit in the cart.

Examples of bulk items include: chair, love seat, couch or section of a couch, small desk, table or children’s bicycle.

Please contact LRS customer service to schedule removal of your bulky items. Prescheduling is required.

DIY Construction

Home remodeling waste that includes, but is not limited to drywall, plywood, paneling, lumber, doors, windows, cabinets, porcelain fixtures, sod, fencing, concrete or rocks will require special pickups. Residents will need to schedule service for these items and call to receive instructions on how to best prepare them for collection. Estimates will be provided, and items will be charged by the yard.

Dumpster Services

LRS has expanded our temporary services division to create an easier customer experience.  These temporary services include dumpster roll-offs of all sizes to contain your construction debris and other home renovation waste.

Contact LRS at 479-878-1384 for any items you are unsure about. Items requiring additional labor and/or equipment to manage are a Special Refuse Collection. LRS will provide a cost estimate if we are able to provide the service. LRS does not guarantee collection of every item.

How do I clean my cart?

Fill the cart with hot water and a capful of vinegar or grease-cutting dish soap. Let it sit for about 10 minutes and rinse. Once the cart has been thoroughly rinsed, set the cart out with the lid open in the sun to dry.

 

What if I need my cart replaced?

Carts that are broken due to damage incurred during the collection are reported by the driver for replacement at no charge. Residents are encouraged to contact LRS if they notice damage to the cart during the collection process to request a replacement cart.

If damage occurs to the cart due to other reasons, please contact LRS to request a replacement cart. An exchange fee will be applied and billed to the resident if requesting a new cart due to damage not incurred during the collection process or odors.

 

Is this considered garbage?

Latex paint

Latex paint is considered regular garbage, but it must be completely dried, with the lid off so the driver is able to see inside the can. Dry latex paint by leaving lid off or open and/or mix kitty litter until the paint is completely absorbed. Do not place out for collection until the paint is completely dry.

Alkaline batteries

Alkaline batteries are considered regular garbage and should be thrown into the garbage. It is always recommended that tape be used on each end of the battery and placed into a plastic sandwich bag when disposing of them.

 

How do I report a missed pickup?

If your waste, recycling, or yard waste services are not collected on the service day by 6 pm, please contact LRS by calling 479-878-1384.

Holiday Schedule  

The holidays below will impact service only if it falls before or on your day of service, Sunday – Friday. Holidays falling on a Saturday will not impact your collection day. LRS observes and will be closed for the six holidays below:
